Risks and protections

What the contracts protect, what they do not, and the limits that are in place while they are young.

The caps

The contracts limit how much money they will hold: 500 USDC per campaign, and 5,000 USDC across the whole platform. A bid for a run that would total more than 500 USDC is not accepted. The limits are constants in the code. Raising them means deploying new contracts, in public.

No independent security review yet

The contracts are written, tested, deployed and verified, but they have not had an independent security review. That is why the caps exist, and they stay in place until there is one.

Testnet and mainnet

Bidding and campaigns run on Arc testnet today, with test USDC. The escrow is also deployed on Arc mainnet, and nothing is funded there. Every address, with its network, is in the smart contract directory.

What the escrow protects

Nobody can spend, redirect or delay money in an escrow: the contract has no function for it. An owner cannot be paid without a proof and a closed dispute window. A brand that does not dispute cannot hold back a payment. Released instalments are final.

peelbid can pause the contracts in an emergency. While they are paused, releases and new activity wait; a pause cannot move money anywhere.

What it cannot protect against

The contract runs on deadlines, and it does not chase anyone.
