Winning and paying
Leading when the clock runs out is not yet winning. The owner decides, then you pay.
The owner decides
When bidding ends, the owner has seven days to approve or decline the top bid, after looking at your artwork. The owner does not have to give a reason.
You have 48 hours
If the owner approves, you are told by email and in the bell, with the amount due and the deadline. You then have 48 hours to pay the rest: your bid’s total less the deposit already held. You are reminded 12 hours before the end.
Paying creates the campaign in the escrow and funds it in one transaction. The money does not reach the owner. It waits in the escrow and is released instalment by instalment against proof.
If it goes another way
| What happens | Your deposit |
|---|---|
| The owner declines your bid | Yours to withdraw |
| The owner does not decide within 7 days | Yours to withdraw; the auction expires |
| You do not pay within 48 hours | Paid to the owner; the campaign does not start |
| You are outbid before the end | Yours to withdraw |
A bid is a commitment. Before you bid, make sure you can pay the full run within 48 hours of an approval. Withdrawing a credit is covered on Bidding.
Paying from the right wallet
You pay on the listing page, from the wallet you bid from. The approved bid, and the deposit it holds, belong to that address.
